Reality is slowly disappearing from my life

It’s now been just over a week since my ‘no TV’ challenge began. That’s a full 8 days with no reality TV. And I am still breathing…just!

I have to admit that the first few days have been pretty easy, I was at work late on Monday night, had to tidy the house on Tuesday night in preparation for the lovely crafty ladies league coming round on Wednesday night. Thursday night I packed as we went down to a batch near Taupo on Friday and didn’t get back until late Sunday night. So TV has been bottom of the list. It’s been a sweet and easy ride so far, but I fear the cold turkey sweats are about to begin.

Last night was the first time I had to physically resist my ‘TV reflex’, which is to switch the TV on as soon as I walk in the house. I had a definite pang of pain as I realised I was going to miss some trashy-TV-relaxing-moments on the couch with my cats, watching something highly unintelligent like Desperate Housewives or whatever American program currently sucks up Monday night TV.

But instead here I am resisiting and instead writing this babble to the non-existent audience out there, creating my own unintelligent content. Oh no…I’ve turned from watcher to creator, this is not what I intended. Better go and do something useful for the world instead.

Here you go, enjoy a lovely picture of my cat…she seems to have got life sussed.
